About Cubit.pics

Cubit.pics is a free passport and visa photo maker that does all of its image work inside your web browser.

Cubit.pics started with a small annoyance that a lot of people share. Getting a passport photo usually means either a trip to a shop that charges for six prints you did not want, or an online tool that asks you to upload your face to a server you know nothing about and then puts a watermark across the result until you pay. Neither felt like the right answer for something as routine as a 35 × 45 mm rectangle with a plain background.

So the tool was built the other way around. When you open Cubit.pics, your browser downloads a small set of AI model files once, and from then on the segmentation, the face detection, the cropping, the background fill, the retouching and the print-sheet layout all happen on your own device. The photo you pick never gets uploaded, because there is no upload step anywhere in the flow. Turn off your network after the models have cached and the studio still works.

What the tool actually does

You choose a photo, pick a country preset, and the app cuts you out of your background, places you inside the correct frame at the correct head height, and lets you fine-tune the crop with live guides. From there you can change the background colour, adjust brightness and contrast, run a face-safe enhance pass, try a formal outfit over your clothes, and export a single JPEG or PNG — or a tiled print sheet you can hand to any photo kiosk. Who runs it

Cubit.pics is an independent project run by a small team of web developers based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is not backed by a photo lab, a visa agency or a government body, and it is not affiliated with any passport-issuing authority. We build and maintain the site ourselves, we answer support mail ourselves, and you can reach us directly at support@cubit.pics.

How it stays free

Every feature is free and there is no account requirement, no watermark and no export limit. Because the heavy computation runs on your device rather than on rented GPUs, the running cost of the site is mostly bandwidth, which advertising on the content pages covers. We do not sell photos, image data or anything derived from them — see the privacy policy for exactly what is and is not collected.

An honest limitation

Cubit.pics produces a photo that matches the published dimensions, head-height ratio and background rules for the presets it supports, but no software can guarantee that a specific office will accept a specific photo. Lighting, expression, glasses, head coverings and recency rules are judged by a human at the counter. Read your country's official guidance before you submit, and treat the app as a very precise pair of scissors rather than an approval stamp.
